My career combines international development cooperation, organizational management, environmental governance, institutional partnerships and applied digital technology. The principal roles and dates below derive from my May 2026 general CV and September 2025 technology CV.
Professional background
I have been involved in international development and cooperation since 1983. In 1985 I was among the promoters and founders of CESVI. I directed CESVI from 1986 to 2002, subsequently served as Vice-President from 2002 to 2006, and was President of the UNA consortium of Italian NGOs from 2002 to 2008. These appointments involved international programming, institutional representation, coordination, donor relations, teams and organizational development.
From 2006, my field-based assignments increasingly focused on biodiversity, protected areas, community-based natural resource management and sustainable tourism, including programmes in Nepal, the Limpopo transboundary region and Egypt. More recent roles in Egypt include Chief Technical Advisor assignments for UNDP and International Technical Advisor for UNIDO, as listed in the May 2026 CV.
Alongside this work, I develop software and generative AI solutions and provide related organizational training. The September 2025 technology CV documents Python/Django applications, REST APIs, PostgreSQL, document processing, OCR, LLM integration and AI-driven workflow design.
